Jack shouted, "Listen! I am doing the young people still in high school a great favor. You think it better to tell them the skies are filled with sunshine and rainbows? That the world is brimming with the nectar of human kindness? I am not saying there is no hope. I am not saying peace and prosperity are pipe dreams. I am flat out telling them they have to create the life that they will be living. The world is a cesspool of greed. The world is infested with criminal scum. The world is a festering pustule of ignorance. It is irresponsible to tell them otherwise. We have a duty to give them the knowledge and the tools to deal with it."

"I agree that we have a responsibility to prepare them for the future."

Jack fired back, "Then it is time we get down to business. This is what happens with 50 years of neglect. We failed to teach people how to think. Instead, we focused on exploring their feelings and filling their heads with notions about equality, inclusion, and social justice. Educational lawmakers whitewashed a turd with a coat of new paint and sold it as cutting edge technology. It was a new curriculum. It was bright and shiny."
