If you are thinking that Systems Administration is more up your alley, that's great. Python is being used to accomplsish this as well. Knowing your way around the SHELL is a skill that can take you far. Click on the Penguin Logo in the group of icons at the top of the page. Everything you need to learn can be found from this massive site of shell scripting technologies. Microsoft is not just 'Windows' any longer. Microsoft programmers and system administration professionals are using Linux now. This is a great Microsoft course on Bash, your first step to learn shell scripting and Linux systems administration. From there, go Powershell! Powershell is Microsoft's Bash. Scripting is where the money is at using Bash, Powershell, or Python.

Powershell is at v7.0 now, but this Microsoft Course on Powershell 3.0 will provide a fantastic foundation to build on, if you want to go down this road.

You will eventually be working in a production environment. This Integrated Desktop Environment (IDE) is the one of choice. Your shop may use something else. Commercial IDE's might be in use. VS Code is free and that helps make it popular. It is also powerful.
