I upgraded my 'meta tags' to the modern formats used now. I will not go back and change all previous pages. That would be insane. I like the idea that the old, useless, archaic tags will live on in cyberspace long after I am cold and dead in the grave. What is Time to Blog!? It's an obscure website that contains more dribble than substance. It tells a story of one man's short and brief stint on planet Earth. This is what he thought about. This is how he felt. Nothing more. It never was about being popular, famous, or making a pile of money.
The purpose was to catch a ride on the Information Superhighway. Having the right to speak your opinion is fundamental to our liberty. The right to form your own opinion is yours. The choice to march to the sound of your own drum is the first step of a greater journey. The World Wide Web (WWW) made it possible for anyone on the face of the Earth with a computer and a means to hook it into the Internet, to connect to a webpage. It was possible that something I thought, words inserted into an electronic page, could be read by someone on the other side of the planet. This fascinated me. I learned to create a simple HTML page that accomplsihed this goal. It didn't matter if it was simple. Simple is all it had to be.
I am considering on learning the new technologies that make web-pages look better. It is nothing more than a cosmetic exercise as far as serving the purpose of what I am trying to accomplish. I recently gave you, the user, an option to view this page in a "dark theme' format. That seems to be what is trending these days. I could care less. I made the option possible just to see if I could make it work. That is the only motivation to upgrade my presentation. I enjoy the idea having the ability to broadcast a message around the world. I also enjoy programming at my novice level and making something work.
I have this crazy idea it is possible for me to program smart contracts and continue this ride down the Information Superhighway.
Nothing has changed.
The "Information Superhighway" was this magical road we were introduced to. It was paved with gold. This is a meme we were all familiar with, on a conscious and an unconscious level. They sold this digital reality to us and we bought it hook, line and sinker, even if we really didn't know what it was. Now, AI is just the latest passenger. The billionaires are dreaming of the days when they will become trillionaires. The world is being sold a bill of goods that this new technology is going to create a 'workers paradise'. We will get a Universal Basic Income (USB). Everything we need will be dropped into our laps. People are eating it up with a big spoon, just like they did when Al Gore used the term information superhighway in a report titled Technology for America's Economic Growth. He again famously used it as a keynote speaker at UCLA's Superhighway Summit on January 11, 1994, describing a "dream for... an information superhighway".
I see smart contracts as the key to stitching the old and the new technologies together. This is how this digital world will be engineered. It is the convergence of block-chain and artificial intelligence. It is the final grand interfusing of man and machine. The people who built this digital Frankenstein warn that it could be dangerous. They have assured us they are teaching this machine mind that will have the IQ of one billion to behave and serve humanity with humility and compassion. The wispers on Wall Street are, "that's nice, but will this invention of yours stuff so much money into our pockets we won't know what to do with it?" The man and woman in the street are beginning to realize this digital marvel might, and most likely will, replace them in the workplace. But hey, they said things will work out. And this thing is bright and shiny! It has to be good.
I fancy the idea of building something that might run on this emerging technology. If it's possible to stuff a few dollars in my pockets in the process, why not? I have been reckless and impulsive. I have not been financially mature. This lack of judgment has come back to haunt me. There is wealth to be created. Wall Street is saying, "forget about improving the lives of these schmucks that work for us. They have always been expendable." AI is the nail in the coffin. These pricks are digging graves while the sun shines. I need to grab a shovel and start digging for gold.
Look, it is every man for himself. I cannot be held responsible when the shit hits the fan.
