A retired horse trainer from Sallisaw won $600,000 playing Powerball. Nita K. Jacobs said she picked her winning numbers based on television coverage of a Dallas Cowboys pre-season football game. Jacobs was home watching the game when a friend called to ask if she needed anything from the store. She asked for a Powerball ticket and told the friend to pick the numbers for her. When her friend replied that she should pick her own numbers, Nita began calling out the numbers from the backs of Dallas Cowboy players' jerseys as the cameras zoomed in.

Jacobs matched all five white ball numbers but missed the red Powerball number. The Power Play number was 3, and since she chose the Power Play option her winnings increased from $200,000 to $600,000. “I will play the lottery for the rest of my life!” she said.

While in the Clark County Detention Center, Simpson is existing on an inmate's diet of three meals a day served at 4am, 10am and 4pm. Breakfast includes fruit, a cup of toasted oats, sausage hash, bread with Margarine, milk and coffee while a typical lunch would be “spaghetti with sauce, a meat patty, green beans, two slices of white bread, one cookie and a fruit drink,” according the police statement. For dinner, Simpson would have “Enchilada Casserole, Spanish rice, garden salad with dressing, two slices of bread, margarine, marble cake, and a fruit drink.”
