I was listening to a podcast yesterday. The man interviewed was Robert Anton Long. He was brilliant. I used to listen to podcasts all the time. I plan on making it a habit again.
Some homeless nut job is screaming into his cell phone here at the library. He is having a mental breakdown. He can't understand why the damn thing isn't working. I have got to get my IPad fixed so I can sit back at my apartment in peace and quite. This is some age we are living in. People can't afford to live in a home or feed themselves, but they have mobile phones. This guy is here every time I visit. Last time I was here he was telling himself that he was ready to stop giving a shit and jump off a bridge. If he can't fix what ever it is that he is crying about, he might reconsider. It is situations like this that give me the fortitude to go back to work and continue banging out my shifts, one at a time. This is why I have to keep my nose to the grindstone. I could end up just like this poor slob. I still could.
A long time employee at the Casino I work in got walked out when he showed up for work. It must be a hardship to call people and tell them, "Sorry for this call but your services are no longer needed. Have a nice day." His brain had been slowly turning into sawdust and he couldn't do the job anymore. Corporate America doesn't take into consideration we might end up in a ditch. That would involve feelings.
