    There is something to this.

I've mentioned that I enjoy stepping into this tavern occasionally to play a blackjack machine there. Technically, they aren't even legal. They are supposed to be for entertainment purposes only. What this means is you can accumulate credits to play if you win. The way they are set up, you can win cash money. Since they aren't legal, who are you going to notify if you get ripped off? I suppose you could contact the tavern league and make a stink about it and inform them you intend to bring this infraction to the proper authorities. I have won money despite the odds against me. I ventured into this dank, black hole of human intelligence the other day. The depths of vulgarity and ignorance were mind boggling. It was almost impossible to even glean the spark of divinity trapped in these lumps of clay sitting there before me. I found this experience disturbing. This is what we have become here in the USA. Somewhere along the line, we gave up even trying to become better people. The struggle to be something greater than you are is a lost art. People know things are bad and instead of working towards a solution, either financial or personal, they have crawled into a hole. Anyone who has chosen otherwise is an enemy. Needless to say, I will spend my time more wisely. I will most definitely use all the spare cash I can muster to pay off my silver purchase, and pay it off quickly.

I'm off today. I haver some errands to run and should wash up my dishes. They are clean, just sitting in the sink. I read this today:
BP said this week it has spent $2 billion fighting the spill, with no end in sight. It's likely to be at least August before crews finish two relief wells that are the best chance of stopping the oil. Scientists estimate the blown-out well has gushed anywhere from 67 million to 127 millions gallons of oil into the Gulf.
The destruction of the Gulf is a crime against humanity. It honestly is. The black helicopter crowd would say , "... sure, the US economy was starting to recover so they ( Illuminati) had to pull this stunt and sabotage it." I am still debating if it was a red flag operation or just plain negligence and stupidity. I did read that Goldman Sachs did profit from this disaster, and profited handsomely. A few well leveraged derivative contracts and you got a billion in your back pocket. Who gives a rat's ass about the little people.

    Update
I thoughly cleaned my bathroom and kitchen, top to bottom. It looks much better. It feels good to see some order again. It wasn't bad, but when you live in a small apartment like I do, it doesn't take much for things to close in on you. I have to tackle the living room next.

A great deal of press devoted to the Gen. Stanley McChrystal situation.
McChrystal, who publicly apologized Tuesday for using "poor judgment" in an interview in Rolling Stone magazine, has been ordered to appear at the White House Wednesday, according to officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. He'll be expected to explain his comments in the magazine's profile, titled "The Runaway General," to the president and top Pentagon officials, officials said.
What isn't being reported, or even asked, is why he made the comments in the first place. The reason is obvious; the war in Afghanistan is circling the drain and no one in the Obama Administration wants to deal with that reality. As the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, it is McChrystal's job to report on the deplorable situation. This is what happens when you inform the public that Washington "isn't wearing any clothes."

Made a substantial purchase of silver today; a substantial investment for me. I bought 20 5 Troy Oz bars at 20.83 per once. With insurance and shipping I paid $2116.00. That is $21.16 per once (100 Oz.) That premium is high, but I think in the acceptable range. Silver will appreciate and I am holding it for the long term. I am looking at a seven to ten year horizon. If the world goes to hell, fiat currency isn't going to be worth shit. Gold and silver has a modicum chance of remaining something of value, either as actual money or as a bartering vehicle. I am buying what is considered industrial silver (bars). What I like about silver is it is a crucial component to anything electronic. The industrial stocks showed strength today. I am buying on good news, which is not the best time, but I still committed myself to this purchase. If China continues to expand and the general man and woman in the street continues to desire those electronic material goods like smartphones, computers, or any of the gadgets that the future may produce, silver will soar because there is only so much physical metal available. This silver is part of my own self funded 401-k. I will accumulate cash, silver, and food (rice/oats). I know the shit is going to hit the fan. If I am left standing in the end, I will have tools to survive. I bought this silver using my American Express credit card. It is imperative that this debt is paid, and paid quickly. I for see this debt paid by the end of October 2010. If the price lowers to 16-17 a troy once, I will buy 100 troy ounces again. I will exercise patience. I also plan on buying a second 50 lb bag of rice soon, plus more oats. These commodities are also for the long term.

I'm ok. My projects are keeping me busy. My spiritual growth is lacking and these are times where a spiritual foundation is more crucial than ever before. Just wanted to check in here. I'm not up to writing a great deal. This too shall pass ...

    Note
Just read that Jimmy Dean passed on.
Jimmy Dean, a country music legend for his smash hit about a workingman hero, "Big Bad John," and an entrepreneur known for his sausage brand, died on Sunday. He was 81. In the late '60s, Dean entered the hog business — something he knew well. His family had butchered hogs, with the young Dean whacking them over the head with the blunt end of an ax.
I liked Jimmy Dean. He always came across to me as a genuine person. He represented the values that made the USA the greatest political and economic power the world has ever known. It sickens me to think those days and the values that built this great nation are dead. If the difference between living and dying came down to whacking a hog on the head with the blunt end of an ax, a large number of people today would crawl into a hole and die. The will isn't there. When things get rough, excuses are the norm. God forbid this country should ever be attacked. People laugh about the French. They'd be shitting their pants and weeping like babies. That's the trouble today. All people do is talk. They don't really accomplish anything. No action is taken. That would require turning off the TV and getting up off the couch. This tea party movement is a fine example; lots of rhetoric with no substance.

Dark, dreary, dismal day. The climate matches my mood. Trying to get myself back into the "swing" of things, but am having difficulties. Overall. things are ok. I am still working. I have food. I have shelter. I have clothing. I do not have peace of mind. This is something that comes from within. I will not find it elsewhere. The hillibilies are getting tiresome. I hold my tongue because I have to. This is a requirement of holding the job. This is my only real complaint. I don't belong working in an environment that tolerates ignorance. This situation will be confronted and rectified.

This is why I carry a knife, and have trained myself how to use it effectively. My knife of choice is the fully serrated Tenacious by Spyderco. I'll repeat what I said about using the knife as a self defense weapon. " It is not in itself magical. In the right hands, it is."

Man Mugged by Band of Marauding Teens

A band of marauding teens mugged a young man on the east side Sunday night, beating and kicking the victim before witnesses came on scene and the attackers scattered, Madison police reported. Police said the mugging happened at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 3000 block of Milwaukee Street on the east side.

The victim, a 21-year-old Madison man, was walking on a bike path between Darbo Drive and Milwaukee Street when seven to 10 teens approached him in a parking lot on Milwaukee Street.

"The victim was punched in the head and was knocked to the ground," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. "He curled up in a fetal position while the assailants kicked and punched him."

The victim was able to get up and run, but an attacker followed and punched him again.

"Witnesses in two separate cars saw what was happening and pulled into the parking lot," DeSpain said. "As they arrived, the muggers left."

The victim's wallet was stolen during the mugging. Two of the attackers were described by the victim as black males, with one 15 years old, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and 130 to 140 pounds with short hair, wearing a black T-shirt and shorts, and the other was 16 to 17 years old, 6-0 and 170 to 180 pounds, and wearing a red shirt.
You have two choices. Fight to protect yourself or do what this gentleman did ... lay on the ground curled up in a fetal position. My personal choice is to defend myself and my personal property. If a little street justice is dispensed in the process, all the better.

Sitting at home today resting. 2010 is blazing by. I don't know if that is a good thing. I know this quote, but I don't live by it. This is a mistake. The sum of all knowledge is elequently presented in the simple language of this great inscription:
I warn thee, whosoever thou art, oh, thou who wishest to probe the arcanes of nature, if thou dost not find within thyself that which thou seekest, neither shall thou be able to find it without. If thou ignorest the excellencies of thine own house, how dost thou intend to find other excellencies? Within thee is hidden the treasure of treasures. Oh, man, Know Thyself, thus thou shalt know the Universe and the Gods!
Inscribed upon the Temple of Delphi
When I get perturbed, I will remember this.
