Not that anyone will notice, but I am making an effort to use HTML5 coding standards in building these pages.
My goal has always been to create pages that look a certain way and to load quickly. This hasn't changed. I have code on this site that was cutting edge in 2005, but 15 years later, it is "deprecated." The modern browsers will load the pages correctly, but it is time to upgrade.
This old dog can learn new tricks. I am also taking the steps to learn WoodPress and wrap my head around Content Management Systems (CMS). When I started Time to Blog! the term webmaster covered the entire process. Now there are front-end masters and back-end masters. There are frameworks to work with the entire life cycle in creating a modern, high tech website. This life cycle includes combining HTML, CSS and JavaScript in an elegant way to not only make the site "sing", but to create an orchestra of man, machine, and code working in harmony.
My original vision has not changed. I am upgrading my foot wear.
This past week, the President was bragging about this cognition test he took and how well he scored. From what I have been reading, the test is supposed to be easy,
I'm a psychologist. I've administered this test (the MOCA) hundreds, if not thousands of times. Let me tell you, bragging about acing this test is the equivalent of bragging that you tied your own shoes this morning.
An example of this test is repeating five words given to you "in the order given." A picture of an elephant is shown
and you are asked this question, "what is this?" If you say, "it is an elephant" you ace the test. The President is proud he was able to ace this test.
Apparently, getting an "A" on this test doesn't mean you have an abundance of common sense.
Yesterday the spam hit the fan when the President used Twitter once again to promote hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, against the judgement of Dr. Anthony Fauci. The use of this anti-malaria drug has been shown to cause harm to the heart and has not proven to be an effective treatment in the fight against this deadly virus. The President presented evidence that this drug works from "a woman who was spectacular in her statements about it."
This woman is Stella Immanuel, Trump's 'new favorite' COVID-19 doctor who believes in Alien DNA,
Demon Sperm,
and Hydroxychloroquine.
You just can't make this stuff up. Truth is stranger than fiction. The truth is our President is desperate to prove he is right, and everyone else is wrong. The death of 150,000 Americans from COVID-19 is besides the point. His brain might be able to recognize a picture of an elephant, but his mind is is off in lollipop land. 100 days are left before the 2020 election for President, and this man is frantically grabbing at straws trying to support his claims of intellectual superiority. You don't understand that the President is only concerned with saving lives. That is why he is talking about hydroxychloroquine. Donald Trump is using all the resources available to him to fight this pandemic and he has been doing so since day one. I am so proud to be an American and all thanks go to Donald J. Trump. He is a great leader. What is your problem? The media and all you reporters that are focusing on this succubus story, and this nonsense of alien DNA being used to brainwash people are trying to stop Donald J. Trump from being elected Preseident in November. This is just another example of the media spreading false news to discredit the President.
I've been sitting here wondering what I need to do. The bottom line is I really don't have to do anything.
The question is, what do I want to do? This is hard for me to wrap around my feeble brain after living a life where I had to

Creating an income stream is something that I have to do and this is not going to be easy. I have ideas, but the world is broke and getting
poorer as the clock ticks. A wonderful digital product isn't going to automatically send riches my way.
Old dreams die hard. They fester. They remind you of a youth you once had and the beliefs that went with them. Thoughts of success and accomplishment went hand in hand with visions of invincibility. You had the strength to overcome all obstacles. A lifetime of having the world kick the shit out of you changes your perspective. It leaves you a weaker man mentally and physically.

Pestilence lays the foundation of war and war makes it possible to seize financial and political power. Is this the reason COVID-19 was allowed to spread unabetted in this country? I think it is.
Despite the course of destruction that lays before the billions of us with nothing, I have to continue on the path I have always tried to walk. The American way of life I knew is dead. I am going to write the stories I always thought I would, but never did. Financial success isn't part of the equation. This is a matter of self respect. No wonder the President wants to channel all CDC COVID-19 data directly to the White House. We can't let information of this nature reach the public. It makes Donald J. Trump look bad. Speaking of body slams,the rate of COVID-19 infections are spreading at an alarming rate in Dubuque, Iowa. The state opened up June 1, 2020. Dubuque was doing well during the course of this pandemic as far as the "numbers" go. The city had 439 cases on July 1, 2020. It jumped to 771 in a week. The infection rate is worse now than what it was during the so called "first wave."
Medical professionals and experts are telling us we are now in a second wave of infection. I don't believe it. I think we are still in what is being called the first wave. The second wave will hit this winter. The infection rate and the resulting deaths will be staggering.
This nation is getting crushed along with the rest of the countries. Look at Israel. They fought this virus tooth and nail. When they reopened business there, they had zero cases and zero deaths for weeks. They opened up according to guidlines set by the CDC, guidelines the United States ignored. It didn't seem to matter at the end of the day. This is a lesson falling on deaf ears. We are up to our eyeballs in manure and the President is telling us the stench is the sweet smell of his victory combating this deadly virus. If anyone is to blame for the 3,053,328 infections and the 134,000 deaths in this country to date, it is China. This is what Donald J. Trump is telling us.
The fact that he ignored this pandemic from day one is beside the point.

The only power I have is to make peace with the life I have and to appreciate the sanctuary of my room. I want to build something that involves coding. I have an idea. This will give me a sense of accomplishment.
There are a few old television programs I like to watch. I really can not stomach mainstream TV, including the news. I see there are a
number of reporters on CNN that are angry. This anger is genuine. At least I am not alone in being disgusted and bewildered at what is happening in this country, and the lack of any effort to make things right. Anyone with a functioning brain cell should be angry, but they aren't. I suspect they will be soon enough. In the meantime, I need to work on my project and make peace with myself and the life I have lived. My life was over before it even began. If there are such things as miracles, then I am living one. I should have been dead a long time ago. My force of Will kept me alive. I wonder sometimes why I even gave a damn. I made a promise to never hate. I never forgot this. I have lived up to it. This says something about who I am.
The past is what it is. The future is a shadow. Today is all I have and for what it is worth, I am grateful. I am at peace even if I am alone.
The fears I had in mid-March concerning COVID-19 have all come true. I am not happy about it.
People do not have the intellect to deal with this plauge. This is what happens when you create a population of citizens that are idiots. With ignorance comes violence. The Powers That Be mis-calculated if they thought they were going to create a society of sheep. I do not believe that ignorance breeds control. What has been created is a class of violent brutes that are the lowest scum of the Earth.
Casting pearls before swine will not change this. That is why the national media is wasting it's breath telling people this virus is dangerous. The general man and woman walking the streets hasn't got the brain capacity to process this information.
