I am grateful for the time I have enjoyed since I stopped working and started collecting Social Security. I have my projects.
I have a modicum of financial security. I still have the physical strength and the will power to continue living the life I have been given. It hasn't been a bed of roses. It never will. Compared to the rest of my fellow human beings, I am living like a king.
I have to remember this. Trump and his Ego are a fact of life. It is a sad display to see my President throwing temper tantrums on the world stage. There is nothing I can do about it. He will most likely get re-elected. The Democrats have no candidate I am comforable voting for. This is the world I am living in. I feel like turning off the television set. I refuse to create a make believe world to live in just because the current one is a laughing stock. This is the reason I keep Time to Blog! going. We all have a responsibilty to look at the man behind the curtain. This is what I am doing, even if it causes me pain.

Given the current state of my lung health, if I catch this virus and develop the pneumonia that is the main killing factor seen in critically ill patients, the odds of me dying are high. I am also in a bad age bracket; that's two strikes gainst me. This illness is a pandemic. It hasn't been declared as one yet as far as I know, but it is one.
An official at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday said Americans should prepare for the coronavirus causing the disease COVID-19 to spread in their communities and cause disruption after Iran, Italy and South Korea reported a rapid uptick in the number of people who have been sickened.
"We really want to prepare the American public for the possibility that their lives will be disrupted because of this pandemic," Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told reporters.

I don't want to come off as being morbid, but I was crunching some numbers based on the figures that are being reported to the public.
The possible global mortality rate of COVID-19 is eerily similar to the Spanish Flu pandemic of January 1918 - December 1920. The COVID-19 infection rate is much swifter that the Spanish Flu, but the motality rate is lower for the moment. The number of people in the world in 1918 was 1.7 billion. Between 40 million and 100 million died in two years. A
Harvard professor
believes that 40% - 70% of the world's population could contract this vurus. There are 7.5 billion people in the world right now. At a 2.3% to 2.7% mortality rate, that puts the death toll right in line with the Spanish Flu pandemic.
In the past few months, people around the world have been going berserk over their economic situations. Riots are breaking out on a global scale. I can only imagine what is going to happen if people start dying by the millions.

This video frightens me. I've been where these people are now. I lived on $1 a day eating nothing more than a McDonalds
cheeseburger to stay alive. I have lived on a bowl of rice per day for six months at a stretch. I know the pain and the stigma
of being poor in America. I count my blessings living where I do. I am living like a king compared to the days I have seen, and the days these people are seeing.
It did not take long for Trump to make a total ass of himself. I honestly believe members of the GOP thought the President
would have shown a degree of humility and even a morsel of remorse after they voted not to impeach him. The man's shame knows no bounds. The GOP is a group of fools. The role call of Republicans who turned a blind eye to an obvious abuse of presidential power do not belong in public office. As long as they are living off the fat of the land, they could care less about the rest of us scrambling to stay alive for just one more day. It must be easy to sleep at night when you are doing so on silk sheets.

WASHINGTON – Saying the president committed "an appalling abuse of the public trust," Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney voted to convict President Donald Trump on the first article of impeachment, becoming the first senator ever to vote against his own party's president in an impeachment trial.
"This verdict is ours to render," Romney said in his speech on the Senate floor Wednesday afternoon, just hours before the historic vote. "The grave question the Constitution tasks senators to answer is whether the president committed an act so extreme and egregious that it rises to the level of a 'high crime and misdemeanor.' Yes, he did."
If any GOP senator were to defy the president, it was Romney. The Utah senator has often clashed with Trump, calling him a "fraud" and a "phony" when Trump was running in 2016 for president.
I don't agree with the article's conclusion that Romney voted against Trump because they had clashed over issues during the 2016 presidential election. The video explains why Sen. Mitt Romney voted to convict Donald J. Trump on the first article of impeachment. He has a moral center. The call from Washington was strong, but the call from Heaven was greater.
It was no surprise that Iowa Senator Joni Ernst voted "not guilty". It is clear she knows which side her bread is buttered on.
My registration as a Republican voter in the State of Iowa was a snub to the Democratic Party and not a true endorsement of GOP philosophy. Both parties are on my shit list. They always were, but I had one last shred of hope that someone in Washington wasn't totally corrupted by wealth and social status. It turns out that one elected official, Mitt Romney, fills the bill.
Today is a dark day in the history of this Nation. Once again the Truth has raised it's ugly head. It gets uglier as the years roll on.

I just heard on the TV that Kirk Douglas has died. He was 103. This was his movie. This movie was great, not like the garbage Hollywood is producing these days for the Great Unwashed. Kirk Douglas will never be equalled or replaced as a true actor and human being.
I enjoyed the Superbowl yesterday. I counted Kansas City out of it with five minutes left in the game. It looked as if the Saints had the upper hand and the momentum to finish the game with a comfortable lead in their back pocket. Superb comeback. Their victory was well earned.
I did not watch the half time show; only the first couple minutes. I saw enough. The reports in the press say it was a spectacular show.
Par for the course. I found the presentation to be vulgar. The more I observe the state of things, the more I am convinced we are in deep trouble. I occasionally watch this TV show that deals with an ancient astronaut theory. It's OK. I think they are way off the mark at times. They are selling this idea that we have never been alone and that aliens have been guiding the human race for thousands of years. They are pushing the idea that these aliens engineered our DNA, and that it is their hope that we will be joining them in a galactic brotherhood. Once full disclosure of their existence is finally revealed, the human race will instantaneously reach a state of enlightenment, and peace on Earth will be a reality. What a load of horseshit.
We are way past the point of a return to a civilized, educated society. We were there 150-200 years ago. The general man and woman walking the streets of America today is a moron. They can't even do simple arithmetic in their heads, let alone using a pencil and paper to do simple calculations. They can not read. If they can, it is at a grade school level. The only words that spew out their mouths are obscenities. They have no manners. I am disgusted with the entire lot of them. The last couple months I worked at the casino were a nightmare. The situation inside the place was a scene right out of the movie The Planet of the Apes starring Charlton Heston.
These people hosting the ancient alien show are living in a world of make believe if they honestly think aliens with advanced technology are going to welcome the human race into their ranks. We are the laughing stock of the Universe.
Superbowl Sunday. I will watch it. I am curious to see if I actually recognize any satanic and/or masonic symbolism in the half time show.

In years past I would have been all over this Impeachment Trial. I would have posted my thoughts on the unfolding events. I have not done this.
I did watch some of the proceedings. The Democrats did not present anything new that has not already been presented before the trial began.
I agree with those who say this isn't a real trial. It isn't in the true legal tradition. I blame the Republicans for this miscarriage of justice. They did not allow witnesses to come forward and present testimony. They did not forward documents when Congress asked for them. They harassed witnesses. They even went as far as to threaten them.
The verdict is already in. The Republicans admit Trump pressured Ukraine to dig up dirt on the Bidens. They admit he withheld aid, or that he threatened to unless they complied. They say this was done for the good of the country. Donald Trump, in his mind, did nothing wrong. So the logical conclusion is "He did it. So what. Get over it."
I don't think our elected official have the guts to remove Trump. The man already believes he can do what he wants. If he is not removed, we will have a full blown crisis on our hands. I am worried what will happen next. I saw years ago that the quality of life I have is precarious. It is hanging by a thread. This is the main reason I walked away from the casino business and retired earlier than financially wise. It was worth it. I am living my life. I am doing things I never had the time to do. My mind is at rest. It is at rest the best it can be considering the circumstance.
I will continue to focus on doing the things I need to do to finish out my life in peace. I will make it. At this point in time, it truely is every man for himself.
