I'd like to wrap this month off with commentary from an individual far more intelligent than myself. Professor Jeffrey Sachs has the experience, the mind set, and the maturity to speak on issues presently of great concern. These issues are being ignored by Donald J. Trump and others in positions of authority that could actually do something about them. If they are acknowledged, they are being marginalized. His approach to dire circumstances in Palestine and Ukraine is a far cry from the temper tantrums being thrown by top echelon members of the Trump Administration whenever they are asked for comment regarding these atrocities.

Jeffrey Sachs' Dire Israel Warning: Most Dangerous Moment Since WWII

This is also something worth considering. The hypocrisy of crucifying former President Joe Biden over his cognitive decline is a pitiful example of the childish behavior of the entire lot in the Trump Administration. It is clear that loyalty to Donald Trump supersedes allegiance to the United States of America and the Constitution this great nation is anchored. Hiding the physical and the mental decline of the Commander in Chief is not the function of patriotism. It is irresponsible. It is failure to act with courage and responsibility. It is a betrayal of the citizens of this country. The same criticism goes to the people who tried to hide Biden's decline. The fish stinks from the head down

The inability of Trump to tell the truth was an issue long before he was reelected in 2024. His business failures are well documented. Is it such a stretch of the imagination to accept that Trump is not the great man he claims to be? His accomplishments are nothing but lies at best and delusions at worst. The latter should send chills down your spine. Is it no wonder that this country is on the brink of economic uncertainty? The billions of tariff revenues Trump says are pouring into this country may be, in reality, nothing more than bold faced lies. There is no money anywhere that can be accounted for at the present time. There are no legally binding documents or agreements from counties that we are being told are investing trillions of USD in American manufacturing or technology related industry.

Time to take the advice of Dr. Timothy Leary,
"Turn on, tune in, drop out".

Cryogenics was a hot topic back in his era. I like his comment on being frozen and brought back to life at a later time,
"I've left specific instructions that I do not want to be brought back during a Republican administration."

Leary doesn't get the credit he deserves. He is remembered as a drug addled hippy. He had vision.

August was a good month. I turned 70. Nothing changed; a good thing. Personally, I am in a good place. Staying here is going to be an exercise of Will. Bring it.

(Des Moines Register) Iowa US Sen. Joni Ernst expected to announce she won't seek reelection

Wondering if this had anything to do with her decision.

I live in Dubuque, IA. I like it here. Dubuque is a city with a population of 59,987 by 2024 records and it exceeds the typical population threshold for a city. Even with this city classification, Dubuque has a small town mentality. People tend to socialize in 'clicks' and they can come off as aloof and self righteous. As small towns go, people are prone to gossip and spreading rumors about people they don't like. Other than this, folks generally mind their own business.

I know that the people of Dubuque do not care for being patronized and spoken to with disrespect. The comments Ernst made in the video were not well received. There are a number of senior citizens living here. We are not a city of wealthy people. We are a blue collar town. We are an example of the demographics that make up the MAGA movement. I once heard someone say, "we are living in the Confederacy here!" That characterization isn't that huge of a stretch. Iowa is as 'red' a state as they come. Even so, people have limits to what they will tolerate and I think Joni Ernst crossed the line.

For the record. Ernst has already shown her true colors. She will choose the wishes of the GOP over the citizens who voted her into office. This video is circa 2020.

Iowa Veterans Deserve Better From Joni Ernst

KYIV, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Russia pounded Ukraine with deadly missiles and drone strikes early on Thursday in a sweeping attack that the U.S. special envoy on Ukraine said undermined President Donald Trump's peace efforts. At least 23 people were killed in the capital, Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's military administration, said on Telegram. As of 11 p.m. (2000 GMT) rescue efforts were still underway.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko described it as one of the biggest attacks on the city in recent months. At least 63 people were also wounded in the hours-long assault, which damaged buildings in all city districts.

So I ask. What was the purpose of this grand peace summit in Alaska? The news machine was touting it as an incarnation of the Yalta Summit. Trump was being compared to Theodore Roosevelt. Once again, Trump was proving to anyone who doubts it that he is the greatest President in US history. There can be no argument that he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.

In hindsight, nothing of real substance. Par for the course. Just another day in the Trump Administration. All that was accomplished was Trump shitting all over himself; literally and figuratively.

Up early watching my daily dose of Bloomberg Surveillance Live. This is the only news I can tolerate. I will go and find brief descriptions of facts like the above Reuters reporting on last night's attack on Kyiv. I'm wondering if the national news machines will ask the same questions I am asking myself. What has Trump accomplished and what is he accomplishing now in ending this war in Ukraine? He has boasted time and time again, day after each painful day, his orange face sucking up time and space, that he could have ended this war in 24 hours. The war never would have even started if he had been President. Any problems, anywhere on the face of the Earth are the result of Joe Biden. It isn't Trump's fault the world is in a pickle. It isn't Trump's fault that the US economy might be heading off a cliff because of his economic policies. It is Joe Biden's fault, and his evil auto pen.

The hot news of the week has been the story that Donald J. Trump is dying. Sources point to Trump's owm words, "I hear I am not doing well." Armed with this knowledge Trump is making amends and plans on dealing his way past the Pearly Gates. Trump figures if he can end the Russia-Ukraine war, that should do it.

Donald Trump is revealing what he claims is his motivation behind attempting to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. The 79-year-old President of the United States dialed in for an interview with "Fox and Friends" on Aug. 19 and explained why he is taking action to end the war with Ukraine. "If I can save 7,000 people a week from being killed, I think that's pretty -- I want to try to get to heaven if possible," he said on the phone call. "I'm hearing that I'm not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons," he added. Trump is currently trying to push for a peace deal between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose countries have been in war for more than three years. The conflict started when Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022.

This news is not just circulating in the United States. It is making it's way around the globe. The Irish Star is all over it.

Donald Trump admits 'I'm not doing well' as he fears he 'won't go to heaven'
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Donald Trump told Fox News this morning that he was worried he might "not get to heaven", so he is actively trying to make changes, including trying to stop the Russia-Ukraine war.

If you actually listen to Trump speaking, it obvious he was being a sarcastic smart ass.

He is not referring to his health that is not doing well. He is referencing remarks people are saying about his moral character and that the life he has lived puts him at the 'bottom of the totem pole.' It is good to see Trump get something right for a change. What are some of the things that Trump is hearing that could bar him from Heaven? Here is a possible list.

  • You are a liar, a thief, and a grifter
  • You are an adulterer
  • You have sexually assaulted women
  • You are suspected of being a child molester
  • You instigated a coup to overturn the 2020 Presidential Election that resulted in the deaths of innocent people
  • The words 'compassion' and 'humility' are not part of your vocabulay
  • The only Trinity you have worshiped is 'hate', 'revenge' and 'retribution'

Where in the hell did you ever get the idea that it was even possible for you to escape
the fate you have forged with your own blood soaked hands?

Everything else aside, what about the mental health of the President?
Does a normal person walk around looking like this?

One last comment for now. Taking snippets of conversation and mangling it, spinning it and perverting it is how the news media makes money. I am talking about main stream news, social media, podcasts, blogs; the whole ball of wax. It's a competition as to who has the superior meme wizards and spin doctors casting spells. They are playing mind games with every single person walking the face of this planet.

Bloomberg News is broadcasting the news that inflation is almost at the 2% Federal Reserve intended rate. I think this is bogus. I bought a gallon of whole milk the other day. It was $5.00 two weeks ago. I paid $5.85. That is a 17% increase. I bought a McDonald's $5.00 double cheeseburger meal last week. It was $5.35. Yesterday, I paid $5.88. That is a 16.5% increase. Prices for other goods have flucuated from month to month, so the data might be given as an average rate across the board. The Producer Price Index (PPI) puts things in a nutshell.

In July, the core Producer Price Index (PPI) surged unexpectedly to a three-year high, driven by rising costs for businesses, including those from tariffs and increased margins. This "head-scratching" inflation surge, with a 0.6% monthly increase in core PPI and a 3.3% annual rise in overall PPI, suggests that higher producer costs are starting to be passed on to consumers, indicating potentially stickier inflation and complicating the Federal Reserve's outlook on interest rate cuts.

Other news reported at Bloomberg speculated that major corporations were 'eating' tariff increases, up to now. Profit margins were dipping below the acceptable gouging rate, so price increases are beginning to be passed along. I see pockets of this materializing. Is an average 15%, or higher increase in everything on the horizon? Yes, it is. This is what the Trump tariff's are going to cost. You don't have to have an MBA in economics, or ask ChatGBT to know what is coming down the pipe.

The United States debt has reached $37 trillion. New tariffs are generating billions of dollars in revenue, but Bessent says that will go toward paying national debt. When?

It doesn't matter what your personal opinion of John Bolton happens to be.
This FBI raid on his home is disturbing considering the politics involved.

Kash Patel's enemies list in action: FBI searches home of ex-Trump advisor

I have read numerous articles and watched interviews with people who worked with John Bolton. In a nutshell, he is an ass hole who thrived on creating hostile work environments for employees who worked for him. Regardless, on the surface this investigation looks to be based on retribution. One thing is certain. Kash Patel is Donald Trump's personal bull dog. All the conversations center on whether Trump is a fascist. No one is asking if other people in positions of power in the Trump Administration are also fascists. It obvious there are.

John Bolton modus operandi

I like Michael Cohen's take on this raid. It has always been the status quo that the most henious scum walking the face of the Earth is considered innocent till proven otherwise in a court of law. Nixon got his tit in a ringer when he made the 'off the cuff' remark that Charles Manson was guilty. The trial came close to being declared a mistrial. Now, Trump can call Bolton a scumbag and no one blinks an eye. Trump sycophant news reporters can cheer that 'it is about time Trump went after this disloyal traitor.'

Cohen is correct. The FBI will, and has already, found evidence that will send Bolton to prison. I am convinced it will happen.

When ever I feel low, I listen to this song. It lifts my spirits.

I pulled the plug on my iPad. This doesn't mean I am sticking my head in the sand for good. I have my laptop hooked into my iPhone that enables me to utilize 'hot spot' technology. I can dial into the Internet anytime. I can main line all the social media poison at my heart's desire. The exercise here is not what vehicle to choose. The point is to create a reality where my Mind is the platform.

The digital landscape is useful. It is a tool. The digital reality that we live in is a method of broadcasting what you have created in your own Mind and made manifest through the power of your own Will. People see the digital platform as the engine of creation. This is the problem. This is why AI is dangerous. General Artificial Intelligence cannot be used as the engine of civilization. The digital universe can not replace what the human mind has created. This is the path we are on and it will destroy everything the human race has accomplished these past 5,000 years.

This is why I turned my iPad off. I am taking refuge from this digital insanity. We are on a path of destruction and from the looks of things, we have crossed the path of no return. AI is an extinction level event. All I can do is watch it happen and shake my fist at it.

A picture is worth 1,000 words.

The Iowa House of Representatives sent me a nice certificate in the mail congratulating me on living to the ripe old age of 70. I appreciate the sentimate. I'm waiting for the boys and girls at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to inform me that I still have an opportunity to contribute to society. I can help reduce the cost of government by digging a hole, crawling into it, and die.

This is different. Members of Congress do conduct hearings that focus on issues other than revenge or persecution.

You don't hear discussions like this. If they do get published on the World Wide Web, they often disappear, suddenly.

Looking out my bedroom window yesterday. The August heat and humidity is creating thunderstorms. This one passed Dubuque by without doing any serious damage.

Michael Victor Leibfried - January 17, 1970 - August 17, 2022 ... You are gone but not forgotten.

Certain individuals in this town have blood on their hands. All the public relations and pathetic morsals
of community donations will never erase the stain.

I look back and think about the seven years I did not watch television. I made a choice not to watch the dribble being offered as entertainment. The commercial breaks were an assault on common decency. I still do not own a television set. I do not subscribe to streaming services. I sit in front of my iPad and watch YouTube and Pluto. I watch Bloomberg Business News. The news they present is balanced compared with the nightmare of 'reality TV' that is being shoved up my ass.

I have come full circle. I may have to walk away from the iPad and focus on reading, writing, and physical fitness. I will still watch Bloomberg. I refuse to watch the immaturity, the deception, or the insults that pollute the digital airwaves.

I had planned on finally pulling my head from the deep recesses of my ass, but I have grown accustomed to it. I still believe I have time to make amends. This nonsense proves one thing. I am still a fool. I do not intend to die in this condition. Time is the one thing I do not have.

I'll give myself some credit. I have the backbone to look into the mirror and see what is reflected. I cannot say the same for elite members of the present administration. They continue on a daily basis to make asses of themselves throwing temper tantrums. They took these positions knowing full well they would be asked questions on the machinations of government. Their responses have been to protect the guilty and to attack anyone who isn't on board with the corruption that is destroying the last 250 years of history.

The shit has become so deep and the stench so foul I am not able to even look at the news. The immaturity parading across the digital landscape is packaged and sold like fast food for mass consumption. It doesn't even have to taste good. It is a bright and shiny turd coming off the assembly line. This manure is worth it's weight in gold. Fear, slavery and genocide, that's where the money is.

It isn't fair that I place direct blame on people who may have joined forces with the dark side willingly or found themselves in over thier heads. The price of power requires payment. Better a pound of someone else's flesh than your own.

There is more than a grain of salt's worth of truth in what Michel Chossudovsky is saying here. It is not coincidence that Jared Kushner had a meeting last week with Trump at the White House. He was there to advise Trump on post war reconstruction plans. Blue prints for the construction of casinos, high rise condominiums, retail outlets and shopping malls, and entertainment complexes are in the works.

Happy 70th birthday. Occasions like this compel one to say something profound. It is assumed you have reached a point in life, a destination. I would like to cooperate, but I don't roll that way.

The following observation is from the book written by Charles F. Haanel, The Master Key. published in 1916.

Our mind-forces are often bound by the paralyzing suggestions that come to us from the crude thinking of the race, and which are accepted and acted upon without question. Impressions of fear, of worry, of disability and of inferiority are given us daily. These are sufiicicnt reasons in themselves why men achieve so little -- why the lives of multitudes are so barren of results ...

I haven't read a better description on why social media is creating a a future civilization of insecure, mindless drones, slaves to public opinion, unable to think for themselves. This inability goes deeper. Critical thinking is no longer a defining characteristic of homo sapiens. We are quickly becoming a species of brutes and self righteous fools who no longer understand the necessities or the responsibilities of living in civilized society.

I will do my part, but I alone can't carry this weight of ignorance on my back.

HIROSHIMA, Japan -- Hiroshima on Wednesday marked the 80th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of the western Japanese city, with many aging survivors expressing frustration about the growing support of global leaders for nuclear weapons as a deterrence. Three days later on August 9, 1945 a second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagazaki.

With the number of survivors rapidly declining and their average age now exceeding 86, the anniversary is considered the last milestone event for many of them.

"There will be nobody left to pass on this sad and painful experience in 10 years or 20 years," Minoru Suzuto, a 94-year-old survivor, said after he knelled down to pray at the cenotaph.

Cenotaph is a monument to someone buried elsewhere, especially one commemorating people who died in a war. Taking its name from the Greek words meaning 'empty tomb', it is the focus of national ceremonies of remembrance. People in Japan pray for the people killed by the atomic blast that were never accounted for.

I did not read any articles or see video of Trump mentioning this anniversary. If he did, I missed it. I hate to be negative, but the world seems willing to let these atomic bombings slide into the distant memory of human history.
